earth raised her
voice and called out
stop
so loud
it shook the ground
but humanity
was deaf
she lifted
her arms and twirled
and twisted
her billowing skirt
leveling towns
but humanity
was blind
she opened her mouth
and breathed fire
razing turf and territory
demanding answers
and apologies
but humanity
was mute
so she had no choice
but to close her eyes
letting her sick
tears fall
and wash across
the world
and humanity
finally
bowed
to
her
